This summer, ten GBA select teams traveled to compete in the West Coast Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. This tournament builds resilience and true sportsmanship in our youth. The competition is tough and the games are intense but our GBA athletes are mentally and physically ready to handle the intensity. The seventh grade girls team worked hard to win the consolation trophy in their division. The ninth grade team played in the gold division and won 4 games and lost one. Above all, the experience that the players get by traveling to another state, bonding with teammates, and building a positive rapport with coaches and volunteers is unforgettable. These are moments they will never forget and will keep them focused on their future. Our youth need more positive activities like these so they can imagine a bright future for themselves.
